
Padmasana/ पद्मासन
Padma
means Lotus. This aasana is called Padmasana as the position of the feet looks
like a Lotus shape.
This aasana is very useful for meditation and chanting(जप).
Action: -
First sit on mate with your legs extended straight front side. Now place the sole of the right foot on the thigh of the left foot and the sole of the left foot on the thigh of the right foot. Now keep the spine, neck & head straight aligned. Bring the first finger(forefinger) and thumb of the hand in the right position and place the right hand on the right thigh and the right hand on the left thigh. Now try to control your breathing by keeping your eyes closed. Initially, this seat should be done as soon as possible, but gradually increase the time.
Some
seekers will find it very difficult to get to this stage for a few days at
first, but if you don't give up, you can do this aasana slowly.

fat decreases and vitality increases.
4.) This aasana is very useful for chanting(जप), pranayama, meditation, dharana and samadhi.
