Introduction:-

As per several researches it has been found that humans consuming nuts since 780,000 years ago.nut is a fruit composed of an inedible hard shell and a seed, which is generally edible. seeds naturally free themselves from the shell are known as NUTS.

 

Benefits: -

·                     Nuts are excellent source of vitamin E, vitamin B, Thiamin & Niacin

·                     Some nuts help to reduce the risk of heart disease.

·                     Even very good substitute of protein & minerals for vegetarians.

 

Drawbacks: -

·        Nuts contain high calories

·        Immature almonds may contain Cyanide producing compound.

·        Peanut are prone to contaminate by moulds that may produce Carcinogens, which may lead to liver-cancer.

 

Allergen seriousness: -

 Nuts are one of the most common allergen food. In some exceptional cases Nut-Allergies may fatal(Though this happens in rare cases).

Its always advisable to not consume even any food containing nut or nut product by Nut-Allergies.

 

Storage Instruction: -

Nuts should stored in cool, dry place to avoid moulds contamination.

 

Uses: - Nuts can be use many ways.

Food Industry: -

Properly matured Nuts are good enough to eat without any process, Nuts can be roasted, Can be salted, Can be caramelized, can be powdered(to use in many baking & dessert dishes), can be crushed(mainly used for garnishes & even in many dishes), can be pasted(mainly in Indian, Afghani & Ahudi dishes).

Medicinal Uses: -

Most of nut are crushed to extract oil of them. This oil is considered with very good medical benefits in Ayurveda.
